Qualitative: WEEE systems overview

Under the project "WEEE systems overview", detailed data on the take-back systems that are members of the WEEE Forum is collected and updated on a regular basis. The distinction is made between information on the country, e.g. legal framework, overview on WEEE systems operational in the country and basic data on inhabitants and geographic area, and the information on the "WEEE systems" itself.

Data on the WEEE systems includes:

• System information (e.g. WEEE categories covered, foundation and board of the system, main contracts and agreements, main tasks taken over)
• Collection & logistic system (e.g. collection facilities, kind of logistic, logistic partners)
• Treatment (e.g. number and kind of treatment partners, pre-conditions, sorting or sampling measures, documentation)
• Financing system (e.g. number of members, tariff system/s, management of funds, reporting and control)
• Some "key tariffs" for comparison

At present the data source consists of hundreds of questions and answers per WEEE system. Based on this detailed information a presentation on the WEEE systems is kept up to date and gives an overview on the legal framework for the system(s) as well as the WEEE system(s) in the relevant country, flow charts for the money flow, material flow, data flow and the contracts of each WEEE system.
