Coaching

The WEEE Forum coaches newly established WEEE systems interested in joining the WEEE Forum. Coaching can take on many forms and is often categorised into one of the following approaches:

• Project coaching
• Operational coaching
• Strategic coaching

Project coaching can be related with the on-going projects of the WEEE Forum, dealing with the benchmarking of key figures or WEEE systems characteristics, with reporting systems, with treatment standards, or other issues. We invite you to further explore our website to get a sense of our different projects. Project coaching involves a technical consultant of the WEEE Forum explaining in more detail the background and objectives of these projects. The overall goal of all projects has always been to improve the performance and operations of WEEE system members of the WEEE Forum. Valuable data has been collected for each of these projects.

Operational coaching is often tailor made and conducted upon request of a newly established WEEE take-back system. The current systems that are members of the WEEE Forum possess a wealth of knowledge in different operational areas. Depending on the specific needs of a newly established WEEE system and the outstanding expertise of a given WEEE Forum member, support and coaching can be provided to an organisation in areas such as IT, logistics, and finance.

Strategic coaching. Thinking ahead about the function of WEEE systems in the future is easier if you are surrounded by peers. The WEEE Forum offers such a possibility and organises regular meetings between the systems' managing directors and board members. Once a new WEEE system becomes a member of the WEEE Forum, its representatives are invited to participate at such meetings where reflection occurs based on actual, concrete challenges. Within such coaching, the function and tasks of the WEEE Forum is always evaluated in order to provide our members with the best solutions possible. For example, the recent results of such coaching led to the creation of a detailed guidance document for individual producers or importers explaining how they can comply with the current WEEE legislation.
